KTM teases off-road reveals at EICMA 2026

KTM has teased “exclusive” reveals ahead of its appearance at EICMA 2026, with a focus on
off-road models expected.

Due to take place from 3-8 November in Milan, the 2026 EICMA show will present an opportunity for KTM to reinvigorate itself following its years of financial turmoil.

The Austrian firm found itself in self-administration at the end of 2024, resulting in production halts and workforce cuts. Indian shareholder Bajaj Auto eventually came to the rescue in 2025, exercising a call-option agreement and taking full control of the company.

Now the company is looking forward, and it says its EICMA plans will “challenge expectations, spark conversations, and offer a perspective on the future”.

Interestingly, the brand’s press release says its presence at the show will have an “emphasis on off-road performance and future-focused development”.

The release offered no further clues as to what the reveals could include, only saying that there will be a “first look at upcoming developments across its product portfolio” and that the “exclusive reveals will remain firmly under wraps ahead of the show”.

Given the wording of the press release, it’s entirely possible that its popular enduro range could be a focus, with major changes expected for the 2028 models. The brand revealed its 2027 EXC and EXC-F models in June with only graphic changes.

Some pundits have speculated that KTM could abandon its signature PDS (progressive damping system) rear suspension system for its enduro models in favour of a traditional linkage system. This would bring it in line with competitors, as well as its own sister brands, GASGAS and Husqvarna.

Another prediction from UK’s Enduro21 suggests that KTM may be looking to resurrect its two-stroke EXC 250 and 150 models, as well as potentially adding a two-stroke 350 EXC.

Of course, there is no certainty that these developments will be showcased at EICMA, with KTM usually revealing its new enduro models mid-year.

Other possible reveals include the long-awaited KTM 990 Adventure R, the 490 range, and even possibly a sportsbike based on the brand’s 790 platform. We also can't rule out an electric model, which would explain the brand’s promise of “future-focused development”.

But this is all just pure speculation for now, with the full reveals expected to take place in Milan on November 3, at 10:45am CEST. Stay tuned.
