2027 KTM 450 SMR confirmed for Australia with updated styling and warranty
KTM's single-cylinder supermoto is headed for Australian shores with a new look and better value for ownersKTM has confirmed its competition-focused 450 SMR supermoto will return for 2027, with the latest model receiving updated styling and an extended warranty package.
The 2027 KTM 450 SMR continues with the company’s 449cc SOHC single-cylinder engine, along with electronic rider aids including selectable engine maps, traction control and launch control.
A Suter slipper clutch is also fitted, while the engine is mounted within a lightweight chassis designed around the requirements of supermoto competition. KTM says the powertrain complies with the 109dB FIM noise limit.
Suspension is supplied by WP, with 48mm XACT closed-cartridge forks and a fully adjustable rear shock. The suspension is designed to accommodate both tarmac and the dirt sections and jumps encountered in supermoto racing.
Brembo supplies the braking hardware, while the bike also features competition-focused ergonomics and bodywork designed to allow riders to move around the motorcycle.
KTM has retained a focus on serviceability, with features including an accessible airbox and threaded radiator closure intended to simplify maintenance between races.
For 2027, the 450 SMR receives revised orange and black graphics and detailing, including black handguards, wheel rims, silencer and seat.
The model also benefits from KTM’s new Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty, which the company says provides additional coverage at no extra cost. Full terms and conditions will vary according to the applicable warranty policy.
The KTM 450 SMR has established itself in international competition, with Lukas Höllbacher winning the 2025 FIM Supermoto World Championship S1GP title aboard the model.
As with previous versions, KTM will offer a range of optional PowerParts accessories for riders looking to further tailor the motorcycle for competition or track use.
The 2027 KTM 450 SMR is scheduled to arrive at authorised KTM dealers in Australia from November 2026. It will not be offered in New Zealand.
