KTM motocross 2025 update more than just bold new graphics

It's not an overhaul, but KTM has refined its two-stroke and four-stroke motocross models for 2025

Stop the presses! A motocross manufacturer has updated its range with more than just bold new graphics (BNGs). Holy smokes, Batman!

Actually, KTM is quite good at tinkering with its off-road bikes year to year, with the last major update to the SX range coming in the form of a complete revamp in 2023.

The 2025 update is not quite as radical, but it is more in-depth than just BNGs. For starters, the frame has been altered to “improve chassis flex characteristics and reduce weight by 300g, while maintaining overall stability and improving cornering behaviour”.

The KTM frame has received the biggest updates

KTM has achieved this with visible cutouts and tube-wall thickness changes around the front, engine mounts, and rear shock mounting areas. There is also an updated swingarm with a machined chain glider, and also an updated rear brake pedal.

Also new is a new of Dunlop Geomax MX34 Motocross tires which are fitted as standard to all SX and SX-F models. The new carcass compound apparently improves damping and absorption, adding up to 30 per cent longer performance, while new progressive cornering block technology (sounds fancy, huh?) improves traction, grip and mud dissipation.

The WP XACT rear shock benefits from updated linkage with renewed seals and smaller diameter linkage bolts, while the WP XACT AER fork also has reworked settings.

New tank shrouds with bi-composite plastics give the SX and SX-F bikes a sharp new look and improved cooling, with an updated fuel tank roll and updated air inlet sleeve and snorkel design.

And don’t fret – there are still bold new graphics 2025, with all orange bodywork, red and black in-mould graphics, and a black seat offering a striking new look.

Lastly, KTM now offers the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) as an optional extra for the SX-F lineup, which enables a range of functionalities and adjustability options via the KTMconnect app.

The 2025 KTM SX and SX-F full-size range spans four two-stroke models (300 SX, 350 SX, 150 SX, and 125 SX) and three four-stroke models (450 SX-F, 350 SX-F, 250 SX-F). The new year also marks the return of the 150 SX to the lineup.

Punters can expect to see the 2025 KTM motocross range on Australian and New Zealand dealer floors from July 2024 onwards. Pricing is yet to be revealed.
