KTM’s Rally team were on hand to help reveal the brand’s 2012 new model news, with three all-new machines as well as a swag of tweaks to existing machines.
As confirmed by KTM boss Stefan Pierer some time ago, the Austrian firm officially unveiled the 200 Duke as a sibling to the popular 125 Duke that didn’t make it to the Australian marketplace.
Effectively the same engine, albeit with a bore and stroke of 72 x 49mm, the 200 has a claimed power output of 26hp – almost double that of the 125cc equivalent.
The brand’s 690 Duke is new for the 2012 model year, this time getting a power boost up to 70hp – the same as the current machine’s R version – thanks to a new cylinder head.
Completely restyled, the 2012 model comes standard with ABS and the seat height has been lowered by 30mm.
Not content to sit back and watch other manufacturers taking a bite out of KTM’s off-road market, the Australian brand has revealed an electric-powered Freeride E motocrosser.
Weighing 93kg, the Freeride E has a range of between 20 and 40 minutes and an equivalent power output of 30hp.
