Despite recent rains along the East Coast keeping many weekend warriors indoors, summer has officially arrived in Australia which traditionally signals an increase not only in motorcycle sales, but also the amount of riders getting out and about.
KTM hope to capitalise on the warmer weather and increased numbers of bikers on the road by giving riders the chance to test ride street motorcycles.
The 'KTM Street Fleet Summer Series' kicks off in January 2011 and "visit selected KTM dealerships" according to the press statement. Simply put, it's a chance for the public to test ride KTM's road range, which include KTM naked nikes, supermoto bikes, sports tourers, adventure bikes, including the models such as the V-twin RC8 R.
There's also a benefit for those serious about buying a KTM, as the company will offer special pricing on most 2009 and 2010 model KTM on road models as the KTM Street Fleet Summer Series visits dealerships around the country.
As well as a plethora of demo bikes to test, every KTM Street Fleet day will be staffed by fully trained specialists who can help with everything from setting up the bike to accessories and that sort of thing.
KTM says the "demo ride loops and circuits around Australia have been specifically chosen to allow riders to put each KTM motorcycle through its paces," and those keen to register for the demo rides should head over to KTM.com.au and sign up.
An Australian open class motorcycle licence and full safety gear (helmet, jacket, pants, gloves and enclosed shoes or boots) are required.
