Two new roadies from Honda

Not one, but two new NC700 machines from the Japanese firm

Honda used the Milan Show to unveil two new roadbikes for its 2012 model line-up.

While showgoers expected a motorcycle version of the previously-unveiled 700cc Integra scooter, the firm whipped the covers off two new models stemming from the same platform.

The Honda NC700S is the road-biased machine, while the NC700X takes on a more of a soft-roader feel in much the same way as the firm’s Crossrunner does and both machines are powered by the 670cc parallel-twin engine which Honda claims has an ultra-low consumption of 3l/100km.

Both bikes will be available with the firm’s Dual-clutch technology, offering the rider the option of either a fully-automatic or manual gearbox operation as well as optional ABS.

Like the 250cc Suzuki Across produced in the 1990s, both machines feature storage space within the faux fuel tank.

Honda also used the show to officially revealed the production version of the VFR-engined Crosstourer which it unveiled as a concept bike at last year’s Italian event.
