Record production for Honda

Honda CEO Takeo Fukui has revealed the company has reached a record production figure for motorcycles - 12.7 million in 2006, up 3 per cent on the previous year. This was despite a slight downturn in its domestic market

More than 73 per cent of the volume was from Asia-Oceania, which the company says is experiencing strong growth. It expects motorcycle demand in the region to reach 21.7 million for 2007. Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam are seen as key markets for expansion.
