Honda UK has taken the wraps off a new top-spec version of the Honda Crosstourer, aka VFR1200X, which adds a number of rugged extras to the regular adventure bike.
The up-rated Honda Crosstourer SE will join the regular models in the UK when it launches next week, adding features such as heated grips, a centre stand, spot lights, front crash bars, and matching aluminium-look panniers.
There's also a top box, which combined with the panniers takes cargo capacity to 123 litres.
Other features standard on all Honda VFR1200X models include 43mm upside-down telescopic forks and a Pro-Link rear shock, both of which are adjustable for compression and preload.
The Honda's beating heart is a 1237cc V4 engine lifted from the CFR road bike, and a dual mode, dual clutch semi-auto transmission and traction control system is also on the cards.
At the time of writing Honda Australia had still not released the price of the Crosstourer V4 adventure bike locally, which is scheduled to go on sale later in April but may not begin arriving in dealerships until May if there are delays in Australian Design Rules (ADR) adherence, as can sometimes happen with new models.
The Honda Crosstourer is being sold in the UK for £11,475 ($18,000 approx.) and the Crosstourer SE takes the price to £13,375 ($21,000 approx.).
The SE version is unlikely to be offered locally. A Honda Australia spokesperson said the company had no plans to offer an SE edition in Australia, but confirmed a full range of accessories will be available (see below for the list).
Two accessories kits will be offered: The Adventure Kit (Pannier & Top Box Kit with Mainstand) and the Deluxe Adventure Kit (Panniers & Top Box, Mainstand, Foglights, Cowl Ornament, Quartet Harness & Windscreen) which emulates the SE edition sold in the UK.
Pricing on the Honda VFR1200X has still not been released, and as such accessory prices are still being nailed down for Australia.
