As Jorge Lorenzo reminded us why he was the 2010 champion by putting an end to Casey Stoner's winning streak at Mugello, in turn adding a little more spice to the MotoGP season as approach the half-way mark, we thought it would be a good time to take five and have a look at life in the fast lane - in slow motion.
One of Casey Stoner's sponsors, Red Bull, had a very expensive video camera set up at the Catalan GP in early June, and the result is impressive to say the least. Scroll down to see the stunning footage.
It's interesting to hear Stoner talk about his nerves and what he thinks about when lined up on the grid at the start of a race - anything but the race, it seems - but the true beauty of this video is watching the motorcycle maestro scything through a corner in super slow motion.
The video is taken at 1000 frames per second and can be viewed in full HD at 1080p, the result of which is enough eye candy to fuse your corneas to your retinas.
From the way the rear tyre rotates, followed by a subtle counter steer at the front end, to the gentle wobble of the exhaust, there's so much more the eye can examine in such slow motion.
Of course, watching Casey Stoner hang off the side of the Honda RC212V as he wills his weight towards to the apex is also pretty impressive, and it's just the thing to get amped about this weekend's race in Germany at the Sachsenring.
