Yamaha has continued its drip feed of information on the brand new FZ8 and Fazer8 naked and half-faired bikes, with two new images.
The new FZ8 will replace the FZ6 and, as the name suggests, it will be powered by a larger 800cc engine.
This latest image shows the new Yammy in all its glory, sporting an aggressive stance with black powder coated engine case and frame, plus gold wheels and a traditional side-slung exhaust pipe.
Take a look at the second image and you'll see the Fazer8 front cowl. Note the distinct similarity with previous Fazers due to the twin headlight design, though how the bikini fairing will be styled is being kept under wraps by Yamaha.
For now...
The Japanese motorcycle maker plans on revealing the full range on March 12, at which time all the juicy details will emerge, such as how much power the engine will generate (we're guessing around 110-120hp) and how large fuel tank is.
We do know that the 800cc powerplant will be based on Yamaha's supersport engine architecture found in bikes like the YZF-R1 and YZF-R6, so power generation shouldn't be a problem. Unlike the supersport bike engines however, this particular application will be tuned for mid-range torque rather than high end power.
