We've already had an early preview of the Yamaha FZ8 nakedbike (http://www.bikepoint.com.au/news/2010/road/yamaha/fazer/yamaha-fz8-nakedbike-breaks-cover-18118), but now the first official image of the all-new Fazer8 has emerged from the digital morass.
Showing an evolution of the half-faired 1000cc Fazer front cowl, the new design is not particularly radical but the design is perhaps less important than what lives underneath its bikini fairing.
A new 799cc four-cylinder engine will provide motive force for the new Yammy, and though we'll have to wait until next week (March 12) for the full unveil and tech specs, it's expected to pump out around 110hp (81kW).
Mid-range torque is expected to be significant.
You can make out a pair of twin-pot calipers at the front end, not to mention the side-mounted exhaust and a fairly high screen, the latter of which should lend itself to covering long distances in relative comfort.
However we must wait until the full reveal before we speculate on other features, such as suspension adjustability, ABS, stability control or stratified nitrous injection.
