Harley-Davidson teases X350 and X500 roadsters for Australian debut

Harley-Davidson Australia has teased what appears to be the new learner-friendly X350 and X500 parallel-twin roadster models that debuted in China earlier this year.

While the company has stopped short of confirming their arrival, a series of social media teasers do little to hide to the fact that it is indeed the X pair, which are built by Chinese manufacturer Qianjiang in the same factory as Benelli.

The X350 is powered by 353cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor, while the X500 boasts a 500cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. Both are styled after the classic Harley flat-track bikes of yesteryear.

The Milwaukee firm currently has no LAMS-approved options for Australian customers, having discontinued its popular Street 500 model in 2021.

But Harley is making a global play at the small-to-mid-capacity market, recently announcing a flurry of new models built in India and China.

These new models include the Qianjiang-built X350 and X500 parallel-twin models, and the Hero-built single-cylinder X440 model.

Harley-Davidson Australia told bikesales in July that the X440 would not be coming to Australia at this stage, but couldn’t rule out the X350 and X500.

Now it appears the X350 and X500 will indeed debut in Australia with an official announcement expected on September 1.
