Harley-Davidson has a new learner-approved motorcycle in its line-up, with the Sprint 440 cruiser to go on sale for $10,440 ride away in Australia. Availability is still to be announced.
Developed and engineered alongside Indian giant Hero MotoCorp, the Sprint 440’s playbook is all about accessibility and ease of use for newcomers to powered two-wheelers. No surprises or curve balls: just fuss-free riding.
The unintimidating nature of the Sprint 440 starts with the long-stroke, fuel-injected single-cylinder 440cc air/oil-cooled engine, which is good for 20kW (27hp) at 6000rpm and 38Nm at 4000rpm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.

The clutch has assist-and-slip functionality to reduce lever pressure, while the seat height is just 683mm – so flat-footed for most riders when stationary – and wet weight is 187kg.
Lightweight cast-aluminium wheels feature a new 10-spoke design. Wheel diameter is 19 inches for the front and 17 inches for the rear, with ABS at both ends.
Everyday conveniences include LED lighting, a USB-C charging port and a 3.5-inch TFT display in a classic-looking round instrument housing. The screen displays a digital speedometer, tachometer, odometer and trip meter plus indicators and warning symbols.

Colour options are Dark Billiard Gray, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder, and accessories include throw-over saddlebags, different seats (including a solo version), an engine guard and windshield.
Interested customers can lodge their interest in the Sprint 440 on the Harley-Davidson Australia website.
