The inaugural carsales Melbourne EV Show is almost here, with the new event providing a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about electric cars and motorcycles, as well as plug-in hybrids, e-bikes, e-scooters, charging options, and accessories.
Set to be held over September 22-24 at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre, the Melbourne EV Show is presented by ABF Group, with carsales joining as the naming rights partner.
While there will be plenty to explore in the electric four-wheel space, there will also be a lot on offer for two-wheel fans, with electric motorcycle brands like FONZ and UBCO already announced as exhibitors at the show.
There will also a range of e-bike, e-scooter, and e-skateboard brands, as well as energy and charging solutions and leasing and finance brands.
On the four-wheel side, leaders like Audi, Kia, Hyundai, Peugeot, and Polestar will provide some star power, as will brands like GWM-Haval, McLaren, Alpha Romeo, Fiat, and the Tesla Owners Club.
In addition to being the naming sponsor for the three-day event, carsales will present the EV Live Theatre featuring the hosts of our popular Watts Under the Bonnet EV podcast – broadcaster Greg Rust and carsales consumer editor Nadine Armstrong.
The inaugural carsales Melbourne EV Show looms as the popularity of electric cars continues to boom in Australia, where EV sales are up by more than 385 per cent to July this year, following the launch of several key new models.
There has been considerable growth in the number of electric vehicles available in Australia, where 91 models and 148 variants are currently on offer, and according to the Electric Vehicle Council’s yearly recap there are 83,000 registered EVs on Aussie roads.
Some exciting new models are set to be launched at the event and an impressive Formula E race car will also be on display. The growing popularity of EVs demonstrates the importance of providing Australians with a 360-degree view of this fast-charged space.
Interest in electric motorcycles hasn’t quite boomed in the same way, but with growing demand for cheap, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport options, electric bikes and scooters will play an increasingly large role in urban environments.
