Electric motorbike outfit Fonzarelli has added an entry-level scooter to its line-up.
The company already sells the bigger X1 scooter and the recently launched NKD motorbike.
Arthur is the name of the latest model and base versions will sell for $3990 plus on-road costs.
The scooter rolls on 12-inch wheels and uses LED lights and an LCD dash.
Fonzarelli founder Michelle Nazzari says the base model has a top speed of 50km/h, which means it can be ridden on a car licence in some states.
Upgrades will lift the maximum speed to 65km/h and 80km/h.
Customers can specify battery packs with a 50km or 100km range and there's an option for a removable battery, which will help apartment-dwellers charge the scooter overnight.
"We’re launching with a special-edition lightning blue design – paying homage to David Bowie and his iconic lightning bolt [from the musician's Aladin Sane album]," says Nazzari.
"We'll take lots of creative licence with future special editions.
"Arthur will cost less than $1 per week to run (based on 100km a week), Fonzarelli provides a capped-price service guide of only $150 per year and with zero emissions [Arthur] will provide the ultimate freedom to roam."
