Beta Motorcycles has lifted the covers from its new 2020 Beta RR range of enduro bikes, with the Italian company saying the extensive raft of changes adds up to a new generation of models.

The 2020 Beta RR range comprises eight models – four two-strokes and four four-strokes – delivering an output and weight option to suit just anyone. The line-up of strokers spans the Beta RR125, RR200, RR250 and RR300, while the four-bangers comprise the RR350, RR390, RR430 and RR480.
Headlining the changes is a new powerplant in the four-stroke range, a frame with completely redesigned geometry and rigidity, and all-new components like the tailpiece, instruments and seat among others.

Beta says the four-stroke engine platform represent a complete redesign with the focus on a reduction in weight and the number of moving parts. The unit features a redesigned magnesium clutch cover, a new water pump system, a redesigned oil circuit, shorter and lighter gearing, improved shifting thanks to a new gearshift mechanism, and updated fuel mapping.
The two-stroke 125cc engine has a new cylinder, expansion chamber, exhaust flange, exhaust valve system and clutch cover, among other changes, which together Beta says have added low-down torque while boosting high-rpm power.

The two-stroke 250/300cc engines, meanwhile, feature a new counter-balancer to further reduce vibration, and the 250 stroker has a new cylinder head to improve low-down torque.
On the chassis front, the 2020 Beta RR range adopts redesigned geometry for an optimal blend of agility and stability. Many models now have a lengthened swingarm, while the fork has been improved and the rear shock is new.

Handlebars are wider, fuel tanks are slightly larger, the sidestand now has a larger footplate and the cooling system has been improved. The footpegs are also new, as is the chain guide and the brake pedal.
Beta says the new bodywork and front/rear guards offer improved aerodynamics, while the skid plate has been redesigned and the seat is now more comfortable and easier to move about on. Finally, the digital instrumentation is also new.

Pricing for the new 2020 Beta RR range is still to be confirmed, but Beta Motorcycles Australia says we can expect the new models to reach Australia in September. See your nearest Beta Motorcycles dealership for more information.
