Yamaha Motor Australia has announced that it will bring the broader spectrum of its customer ride and race events together under the one banner, with its new 'bLU cRU' scheme to cover racing, training and other ride events, both on-road and off.
Free to join and requiring nothing other than ownership of a Yamaha YZ or WR dirt bike or Yamaha sportsbike, the bLU cRU's social media channels will be up and running shortly, while the first bLU cRU event – the Sunny Corner trail ride – was held recently nearly Lithgow, NSW.
The Sunny Corner event saw around 1400 riders tackle wet and slippery conditions in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. Yamaha dealers Lithgow Bike Stop and Excite Motorsports supported the event and Yamaha technicians were on hand to assist competitors.
Team Active8 riders Beau Ralston and Tayla Jones also took part, while for his efforts lucky punter Greg Lee (pictured) took home a GYTR-accessorised Yamaha WR450F.
Yamaha Motor Australia's Director and General Manager, Steven Cotterell, said the bLU cRU initiative would help to bring Yamaha riders together.
"We believe that building a bLU cRU community offers real value for our blue and white world customers by offering a wide range of fun activities they can enjoy on their Yamahas," he said.
"bLU cRU will maintain Yamaha's strong position in the off-road market segment, continue to grow road market share and reinforce the uniqueness of the tuning fork brand."
