Suzuki introduces three-year warranty for road motorcycles

The Japanese manufacturer claims it is the first among its compatriots to extend its warranty beyond two years

Suzuki Australia has extended its warranty program to three years for a number of models, claiming to be the first Japanese motorcycle manufacturer to extend beyond the standard two-years period.

The new 3 Year Warranty will apply to Boulevard, GSX-R, GSX-S, Hayabusa, SV, and V-Strom models that are 250cc and above, and purchased after October 1, 2021. However the program will be backed to July 1 to account for owners of the latest Gen III Hayabusa.

The warranty has been backdated to cater for new Hayabusa customers

“We’re thrilled to support our dedicated and loyal customers by providing an additional 12 months of warranty on the majority of our road motorcycle range,” said Suzuki Australia’s Lewis Croft. “The supplementary warranty period is a testament to Suzuki’s superior design, materials, components and development that goes into each product.

“Additionally, we have backdated the eligibility date to the 1st of July 2021 to ensure we included our Gen III Hayabusa customers. This new warranty program underscores our confidence in the latest-generation of Suzuki motorcycle product.”

Some European manufacturers, notably BMW, have three-year warranty periods, however the standard amongst the Japanese companies has historically been two-years.

For Suzuki customers to qualify for the extended warranty, they simply need to ensure their motorcycle is serviced and maintained in accordance with the product service schedule as outlined in their owner’s manual. Service inspections must also be performed exclusively by an authorised Suzuki Motorcycle dealer or appointed Suzuki Service agent using only genuine Suzuki parts and ECSTAR oil.
