Royal Enfield has confirmed that the new Classic 650 is headed for Australian shores, but no arrival date or price has been announced.
The latest addition to the popular 650 Twins range was launched to UK media last year, while the bike made its public debut at EICMA in November.
However, until now, it was unclear if the model would be made available in Australia.
The Classic 650 is based on the same engine and chassis platform as the other Royal Enfield 650 Twin models, including the Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, Shotgun, and Bear models. It specifically uses the Super Meteor and the Shotgun as its underpinning but adopts styling cues from the Classic 350 model.

Powered by Royal Enfield’s 648cc parallel-twin motor, the Classic 650 also features Showa suspension, LED lights, a removable pillion seat and subframe, a polished twin exhaust system, and updated controls.
Unlike the Bear 650, which arrived in Australia earlier this year, the Classic 650 will forego the full Tripper round TFT dash for a more retro-styled speedometer and LCD screen with a smaller Tripper navigation pod.
The Classic 650 will be launched to local media in April, however it is unclear when the bike will hit dealer floors. Prospective customers are being urged to register their interest on the Royal Enfield Australia website.
