Radical Ducati Raceric custom

Spanish custom shop Radical Ducati built the Raceric café racer for a bloke who loved the look of the RAD02, but wanted a twin seater

We've reported on Radical Ducati models in the past, largely because of the attention to detail that goes into its bikes and the minimalist designs, which can be seen in the form of the RAD02, Cafe Veloce, and Guzzi California creations.

The Spanish company has treated its attractive 'Raceric' cafe racer model to a new photo shoot courtesy of photographer Paolo Grana, presenting the Ducati Monster-based custom in a more fitting light.

Reports suggest the name of the name of the customised motorcycle could be a tribute to a guy called Eric, while others purport that its simply a play on the word racer.

Conspiracy theorists allege it is a combination of both.

Whatever the case, it's another minimalistic work of art, which began life as a Ducati Monster S4. The owner loved the RAD02 and wanted something similar, but different, something seat two people, and so the Radical Ducati team set to stripping the bike down and delivering a café racer personality.

It features an all-new frame to mount a revised seat and fit the modified engine, which benefits from new cylinder heads and race-spec air filters. The custom exhaust system also features a loud end can, while plenty of carbon fibre is used throughout, such as on the front and rear fenders.

So yes, it would be fair to say the Raceric would be loud and fast, two important aspects of any self-respecting custom bike.

Tomaselli handlebars are part of the kit as is a single sided swingarm and virtually every aspect of the bike has been upgraded in some form, including the brakes, engine, suspension and instrumentation.

Even the fuel tank is new. Made from aluminium it provides the Radical Ducati Raceric with a little focus, as do the gold alloy wheels and engine case highlights, on what is a unique and pared-back design.

The eye-catching café racer custom bike was built with a long (and unorthodox) seat, to accommodate the owner's wife, and though café racers are traditionally solo affairs, the idea has merit.
