Punters hoping for a KTM 990 Adventure R will have to wait a little longer with the Austrian firm revealing a new-look 890 Adventure R for 2025.
While technical updates are minimal, the new 890 Adventure R will benefit from a connectivity unit fitted as standard as well as a new graphics kit.
The bike retains the 889cc parallel-twin motor that is good for 77kW and 100Nm, as well as the off-road ready WP XPLOR suspension. It is also complete with KTM’s full electronics suite with a ‘Rally’ mode available as an option.
With the launch of the 990 Duke naked bike earlier this year, whispers of a 990 Adventure began to spread across the internet. Some sleuths have even spied a prototype being tested.
But the announcement of the 2025 890 Adventure R makes it unlikely that a 990 Adventure R will be available before 2026. It is possible however that a standard 990 Adventure could replace the standard 890 Adventure soon.
KTM has spent a lot of time in the headlines recently, with the company set to undergo a legal restructure due to financial difficulties.
The brand also revealed new technology and a number of new models in the lead-up to EICMA, including the long-awaited 390 Adventure R.
