New Forza from Honda

Honda's 250 Forza Z scooter has come in for a major upgrade and is laying claim to what could be the most sophisticated (or complex) transmission in scooterland, called the S-Matic

Among the options it offers are full auto, push-button manual, auto with 'gears' and a mode that allows the transmission to 'kick-down' in the style of an auto car when full throttle is suddenly called upon. In addition, the manufacturer says there are seven ratios on tap.

There is an ABS version of the linked braking package.

Honda says the 249cc fuel injected engine produces 22 horses at 7500 rpm, punting a machine weighing around 175 kilos dry. It runs a 12 litre fuel tank and has a 710mm seat height.

Honda Australia's Rhys Griffiths says the company is planing to expand its local scooter line-up and a version of the new-gen Forza will be in the mix, though timing and price are uncertain at this stage.
