Ergonomically, the bike has been improved with a new fuel tank, plus a new saddle that allows the rider to fit perfectly with the fairing. The bike also has more on-board space and a ‘more natural and relaxed’ riding position.
Aprilia has also upgraded the electronics with a new Marelli 11MP ECU and six-axis IMU platform. The electronic suite includes multi-level engine brake control, six riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, ride-by-wire and ABS. There is also a larger TFT screen and cornering LED's.
The chassis has been updated with a new lighter swing arm, while the high performance V4 engine is now Euro-5 compliant and puts out a max figure of 217hp. The engine capacity has also been increased from 1077cc to 1099cc.
Meanwhile, the 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 has received similar updates, with RS 660 style, lighter swing arm, and the full list of electronic updates. Unlike its RSV4 brother though, it remains at 1077cc, even despite the Euro-5 compliance.
Both models are available in standard and ‘Factory’ trim, with the latter versions getting Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension. The RSV4 Factory also gets Brembo Stylema brakes and forged aluminium wheels.
The RSV4 is available in Dark Losail, plus Aprilia Black and Lava Red (Factory only), while the Tuono V4 is available in Tarmac Grey and Glacier White, plus Aprilia Black (Factory only).
Both machines are expected to arrive in Australia mid-year, however full specification and pricing information are yet to be revealed.
