Multistrada V4 biggest seller for Ducati

The new adventurer tourer was a best seller in a record year for the Italian firm

Ducati sold a record 59,447 motorcycles globally in 2021 – a record for the Italian company. The brand’s sales increased by 24 per cent from 2020 and 12 per cent from 2019.

Unsurprisingly, the all-new Multistrada V4 adventure tourer proved to be the most popular model for customers, with 9957 units delivered to customers in 2021.

Other popular models included the Ducati Scrambler 800 family (9059 units sold) and the Monster (8734 units sold).

The United States was the strongest market for the Borgo Panigale firm, with 9007 units corresponding to a 32 per cent increase from 2020. Italy, which was formerly the top market, moved 8707 bikes, while Germany sold 6107 units. The Chinese, French and UK markets also grew.

Ducati will launch the new DesertX in 2022

"With 59,447 motorcycles delivered to customers, Ducati notches up a historic result and once again underlines its solidity, despite the difficulties encountered across all sectors due to the supplies crisis,” said Ducati VP, Francesco Milicia.

For 2022, the Italian brand is gearing up to release the all-new DesertX – an adventure tourer with significant off-road ability.
