Electric motorcycle brand LiveWire has revealed its second model, with pre-orders of the limited initial run selling out in minutes.
The LiveWire S2 Del Mar is designed as a more real-world and affordable electric option compared to the performance-focused LiveWire One. The limited ‘Launch Edition’ model checks in with a price tag of $17,699USD (approx. $25,500AUD).
LiveWire has only produced 100 units of the new S2 Del Mar Launch Edition with reports that all available units were snapped up instantly. The bike is expected to go into mass production with a smaller price tag ahead of a 2023 release.

While official specifications are yet to be determined, the new machine is developed around the Arrow platform, which surfaced on the internet earlier this year. It is understood the Arrow platform will be adopted into a range of different-sized models.
The original LiveWire One was essentially a re-badged version of the Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycle launched in 2021. That bike was the first mass-produced, fully-fledged electric motorcycle from a major manufacturer, however it was hampered by its large $50,000 price tag and limited battery range.
Harley-Davidson made the decision to spin-off its electric operations into the new LiveWire company – a move which allows its electric range to breathe and develop naturally. The LiveWire brand utilises H-D resources, but operates as a standalone company.
The LiveWire One was the first model under the new brand, however, while it was more affordable, it was identical to the Harley-branded version. As expected, the original Harley-Davidson LiveWire has now disappeared from the Milwaukee cruiser company’s line-up.
While LiveWire is ramping up its presence in its homeland, it is unclear when or if the brand will arrive in Australia. The original LiveWire press release indicated a ‘worldwide’ release for the brand in 2023, however Harley-Davidson Australia recently told bikesales that it was currently unaware of any plans to bring the brand to Australia and whether it would be involved in distribution.
