If you watched the Paris 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony, you would have seen Tom Cruise’s impressive cameo as he took possession of the official Olympic Flag ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
In typical Hollywood fashion, the Mission Impossible superstar abseiled into the Stade de France before departing through the streets of Paris aboard a motorcycle. With some silver screen trickery, he then boarded a cargo plane bound for LA, before skydiving down to the Hollywood sign.
The Olympic flag ultimately ended up at a raging Venice Beach party headlined by Snoop Dogg, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish. Ahh Hollywood...keep doing what you do.
Of course, it was a showstopping turn, if not a little over the top, but it was Cruise’s motorcycle that caught the eye of many two-wheel fanatics. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the bike in question was an electric LiveWire S2 Del Mar.
According to the LiveWire website, the Del Mar is powered by a 263Nm/63kW motor and a 10.5kwh battery, and is good for approximately 181km of city range. The specs also claim a top speed of 165km/h and a 0-100km/h time of three seconds.
LiveWire is the electric spin-off of Harley Davidson, having started life in 2022. It was named after H-D’s first electric motorcycle, the LiveWire.
The Del Mar isn’t quite as high-spec as H-D’s as the LiveWire One, but is designed as a more affordable and commuter-friendly option.
Harley-Davidson did bring the original LiveWire model into Australia, however the newly formed LiveWire brand is yet to establish a presence Down Under.
