Two popular KTM models have received updates for 2021, with the KTM 690 Enduro R and the KTM 690 SMC R now meeting Euro5 emissions regulations.
Powered by the tried and true LC4 single-cylinder powerplant, the updated 690 models maintain key features that have made them successful, whilst gaining a number of upgrades.

The offroad-focused 2021 KTM 690 Enduro R has received a handlebar switch for ride modes, with Street mode enabling two-channel ABS, and Offroad mode disengaging rear-wheel ABS. The ABS also benefits from a new modulator unit to better regulate the force and application of the braking power required.
Additionally, ABS can now be switched off via a button on the improved dash, which also now displays indicators for RPM and gear selection.
Blurring the lines between travel and enduro, the 690 Enduro R is for the more adventurous dual-sport riders out there. Cornering ABS, offroad ABS, traction control and sensitive motor slip regulation all feature in the name of safety and comfort, while WP XPLOR suspension and 74hp and 73.5Nm help the bike perform both on road and off.
The road-focused 2021 KTM 690 SMC R also gets the new ABS modulator and the fancy new dash, as well as improved Brembo braking performance.
Unlike the Enduro R, the 690 SMC R has been configured for on-road sportiness, with WP APEX suspension, supermoto ergonomics and wide-ranging ABS modes including specific cornering and supermoto modes.
Both machines have been given a cosmetic makeover for 2021, as well as a new catalytic converter which allows them to meet Euro5 standards.
The KTM 690 Enduro R and KTM 690 SMC R are expected to arrive on Australian and New Zealand shores from March 2021. Pricing is yet to be announced. Head to www.ktm.com or speak to your local KTM dealer for more information.
