The all-new supercharged H2 one-litre sportsbike will retail for $33,000 (plus on-road costs), Kawasaki Australia has announced.
The price is in line with market ‘expectations’, in a segment which is a new frontier for Kawasaki – at least in modern times.
The H2 was only publicly unveiled for the first time a week ago in Milan, with the 998cc in-line four-cylinder H2 claimed to produce 207hp (210ps/154.5kW) with ram air, and 197hp (200ps/147.2kW) without, and there’s 133Nm (or 140.4Nm with ram air) of torque at 10,500rpm.
Meanwhile, the H2R track-only version, which was shown at Cologne for the first time in October, will retail for $60,000, with obviously no on-road costs to factor in. Bikesales recently saw the H2R up close, and you can read all about it here.
If you’re keen to purchase the H2 or H2R (or both…), you’ll have to hold off for a few days, as Kawasaki Australia is in the process of appointing specialised H2 dealers, which will number 10-15 throughout Australia. We’ll publish the list of dealers as soon as we get it.
The bikes will start arriving as early as January 2015, but the timetable could extend out to February.
What do you think of pricing? Is Kawasaki on the money?
