Harley-Davidson 'coolest' bike brand

No other motorcycle companies made the Coolbrands Expert Council's top 20 brand list, so is H-D the coolest?

According to a British poll of 2000 consumers, Harley-Davidson is the only motorcycle you should be riding if you want to be cool.

The Coolbrands Expert Council has released its top 20 'coolest brands' and only one motorcycle brand made the cut, Harley-D, while three car marques were voted in - Aston Martin in the number one spot, followed by Ferrari and Maserati.

The Harley-Davidson brand consistently polls well with consumers around the globe and is one of the most recognisable brands on the planet. The company has also revleaed pricing and details of the 2012 Harley-Davidson range of motorcycles.

After Aston Martin in first place and Apple in second, Harley-Davidson placed third. No other motorcycle brand made the top 20 list.

As well as the 2000 consumers surveyed, a panel of 35 designers, website executives and style magazine editors contributed to the poll.

Interestingly, videogame brands polled well, with both the Playstation and Nintendo ranking in the top 20. Other brands that made the cut included Google and Youtube, not to mention Dom Perignon champagne and Agent Provocateur lingerie.

Harley-Davidson marketing manager (UK/Ireland region), Steve Colling, was chuffed with the brand's 'cool' status. "We’re thrilled that this is the fourth consecutive year that we have achieved CoolBrand status. We believe that Harley-Davidson is about more than just a motorcycle as a form of transport, it’s about the lifestyle and ownership experience that our customers enjoy.

"To be the only motorcycle brand in the top 20 is fantastic and shows the broad appeal that Harley-Davidson has not just with our customers, but with riders and non-riders of all ages. We hope that this great news raises awareness of the joy of riding a motorcycle and helps attract new riders onto two wheels," added Colling.
