Garmin will supply Yamaha with state-of-the-art infotainment systems for select motorcycles and smart scooters.
The partnership will see the Swiss-based tech company provide Yamaha with infotainment solutions that incorporate Bluetooth, media integration, and enhanced navigation functionality. It is part of Yamaha’s Connected Vision program which “seeks to attain 100% vehicle connectivity”.
“The addition of Garmin infotainment solutions to Yamaha Motor’s product lineup is a testament to our growing capability and exceptional product quality in the auto OEM environment,” said Garmin Automotive OEM Managing Director, Matt Munn.
“We are honoured by the confidence Yamaha Motor has entrusted in Garmin, and we look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality motorcycle and scooter solutions for many years to come.”
Yamaha has parented with Garmin before, with the integration of an infotainment system into its TMAX motorcycle in 2022. That system was also integrated into the XMAX scooter, the NIKEN GT, and Tracer 9 GT+ in 2023.
Born in the USA, and now based in Switzerland, Garmin is known best for its GPS products, including fitness trackers and smart watches. But it also provides automotive solutions and has worked with the likes of BMW, Ford, Honda, Mercedes, Nissan, Toyota, and Kawasaki.
