EICMA: CFMOTO 800MT Sport, NK-C22 concept, Papio Nova

Sporty MT concepts and all-electric offerings shown in Milan

A CFMOTO 800MT Sport painted in the same livery used by the Pruestel GP CFMOTO squad in the 2022 Moto3 world championship was unveiled at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, alongside a striking concept from the same platform and a brand new all-electric offering.

Detail is scarce, but official images released by the firm suggest the brightly coloured CFMOTO 800MT Sport is just a styling exercise rather than featuring any additional or GP-inspired hardware. Australia’s Moto3 star, Joel Kelso, who’s set to join the CFMOTO squad for the 2023 Moto3 season, was on hand in Milan to help unveil it.

Also using the 800cc engine platform is a new concept unveiled overnight called the CFMOTO NK-C22. Ditching any styling elements associated with MT range, the NK-C22 looks to the firm’s sportier NK line-up for its styling inspiration but takes it a step further for a more extreme look befitting a so-called concept model.

According to CFMOTO, “power is the core of its appeal” and while we don’t know a lot more beyond its engine platform, we can see there’s a single-sided swingarm, a dual-exit high-mounted exhaust and a rather futuristic looking headlight.

Reading between the lines, it appears CFMOTO may be planning to introduce the bike as a production model sometime next year.

Elsewhere, the firm also whipped the covers of its first all-electric offering in the form of the Papio Nova. Rolling on what appear to be 12- or 14-inch wheels, little more is known about the bike’s specification, although CFMOTO is quoting a claimed range of 150km “with an urban speed,” which is likely to be around 40-45km/h.

The motor, powered by a lithium battery, is said to produce up to 30hp and up to 251Nm.
