The long-awaited 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R has finally been revealed at EICMA, with the bike boasting a significant off-road advantage over the base model.
With bold rally styling, a new LED headlight design, and a new frame and subframe, the LAMS-approved 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R is a very different looking bike to the original 390 Adventure. The 390 Adventure won the bikesales Learner Bike of the Year award in 2023.
The 390 R is powered by the same single-cylinder motor that debuted in the updated KTM 390 Duke – a bike that was launched in Spain earlier this year.

The 390 Adventure R also adds a 21-inch front wheel which is complimented by an 18-inch rear wheel, while the fuel tank appears to have increased in capacity.
Also featured is a new offroad-ready swingarm, an all-new 5-inch TFT dashboard, and adjustable WP APEX suspension (although the bike on display was fitted with an up-spec WP XPLOR PRO fork).
The 390 Adventure R will also come equipped with cruise control, a unique feature for a bike of this capacity.
Further details and specification are expected to be revealed in the coming days, but the 390 Adventure R will likely be a big player in the heated lightweight adventure category. It joins the likes of the CFMOTO 450MT and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 as serious lightweight dual sport machines. BMW has also revealed a F 450 GS concept, while Suzuki unveiled its DR-Z4S dual sport machine at EICMA.
More to come.
