Any motorcycle sporting a single-sided front swing arm and hub-centre steering would be labeled as unusual, but the Dragon TT Atila 1000 R has a design to match.
Unorthodox in many respects, this curious naked bike was unleashed back in November at EICMA 2010 in Milan, but now we have a few more studio shots that show off just how much work has gone into the motorcycle.
Built by the Spanish MotoYE outfit and designed by Dragon TT, the streetfighter is powered by a Yamaha YZF-R1 engine that outputs around 160hp (117kW) and features a wild design, particularly towards the rear of the bike.
The frame is a modified unit from a Yamaha GTS1000 and the chassis appears to be high qaulity, making use of a single giant eight-piston Brembo brake caliper up front, Öhlins suspension and a few extra parts from Moriwaki. The headlight cluster has been cannibalised from a Yamaha R6.
While the hub-centre steering and single-sided front swing arm will make for an interesting on-road feel, it's perhaps the dramatic design that will provoke more comment.
Designed by Dragon TT, the front end is very aggressively styled and features a pair of 'fangs' (to scare off would be rivals?). Stylised triple spoke wheels also add to the bike's image.
However the rear isn't quite so alluring, featuring a tail section that has already seen several curse words mumbled in this office. If you're interested in the model, it's yours for 39,000 Euros, which is roughly $52,000. Check out Motoye.es for more.
