Did Triumph just tease its new enduro models?

Triumph made headlines earlier this year when it revealed its first motocross bike. Now an enduro version could be headed our way

It’s no secret that Triumph is developing a range of specialised off-road enduro models, but the brand has been tight-lipped on timelines and further details.

However, that could soon change, if a recent Instagram teaser is anything to go by.

A cryptic post from Triumph Racing shows an off-road bike traversing what appears to be a hard enduro or endurocross course. While details on the bike are not visible in the short video, the caption – which reads “new terrain, new challenges, new goals” – is a decent hint that enduro models are on the way.

Triumph used the post to tell its audience to “stay tuned”, suggesting an announcement of some description is imminent.

But a full reveal of the enduro models may be some time away, as the Triumph Racing social channels are focused on the brand’s professional racing efforts.

If Triumph was to follow a similar publicity campaign to its TF250-X motocross machine, then it is likely we will see a race-ready version of the new enduro models before the final production version.

On that line of thinking, the incoming announcement could possibly relate to planned entries into major off-road championships, such as the Enduro World Championship and the FIM Hard Enduro series.

A dedicated Triumph enduro model would join the brand’s TF250-X motocross model, which debuted earlier this year. A 450cc motocross bike is also coming soon.

The enduro models will use a similar platform to the motocross bikes, but they will likely differ with a headlight, wide-ratio gearbox, a smaller rear wheel, bigger fuel tank, and specially-tuned engine and suspension.

Triumph has given no hints on capacities for the enduro range, but there is a feeling in the motorcycle community that 250cc and 450cc four-stroke variants are likely.

Other brands often include 350cc and 500cc four-stroke variants in their enduro lineups, but it is unlikely Triumph will cover off all these capacities from the beginning. It is also increasingly unlikely there will be any two-stroke variants.
