Chinese brands QJMOTOR and VOGE are headed for Australia

Established Chinese manufacturers QJMOTOR and VOGE join a recent wave of Chinese brands entering the Australia market

Chinese motorcycle brands QJMOTOR and VOGE will hit the Australian market in October after Nexa Auto Imports was appointed as the exclusive importer and distributor for Australia and New Zealand.

QJMOTOR (owned by auto giant Geely) and VOGE join a growing number of Chinese motorcycle brands on Aussie shores, having likely been inspired by the success of CFMOTO and the booming Chinese car market. ZXMOTO, Kove, and BENDA have found distributors in Australia recently.

The new QJMOTOR AND VOGE importer says it plans to launch both brands simultaneously with a combined range of 16 motorcycles spanning roadster, sports, adventure and cruiser categories, including a mix of LAMS-approved and unrestricted models.

Dealer applications are now open as Nexa Auto Imports looks to establish a national retail network ahead of the October launch. The company says it will provide dealer support through parts distribution, warranty programs and technical training.

QJMOTOR is expected to launch with nine motorcycles. Models confirmed include the SRK 800 RR supersport, SRV 600 V2 LAMS cruiser and SRT 450 RX adventure bike.

VOGE's initial Australian range will comprise seven models, with around half expected to be LAMS approved. The line-up will be headlined by the DS800X Rally adventure bike, alongside the larger DS900X, RR660S supersport and CU625 cruiser.

While both brands are new to Australia, they are established manufacturers in China and have each established a presence in Europe.

QJMOTOR is part of the Geely Holding Group, which also owns automotive brands including Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Zeekr and the London EV Company. VOGE is the premium motorcycle brand of Loncin Motor Co., a long-time manufacturing partner of BMW Motorrad that has produced engines and motorcycles for the German manufacturer since 2005.

QJMOTOR has also owned Benelli since 2005, however unconfirmed reports suggest that the Chinese company is slowly phasing out the Italian-born brand, which has been distributed in Australia by Urban Moto Imports.

Managing director Clint Davis said the company's focus would be on establishing long-term dealer partnerships and providing aftersales support as the brands enter the local market.

Nexa Auto Imports also plans to expand the combined QJMOTOR and VOGE range to between 25 and 30 models over the next two years, with future additions expected to include ATVs and off-road vehicles. Pricing, full specifications and dealer locations are yet to be announced and will be released closer to the October launch.
