CFMOTO has announced a competitive introductory price for its new 450MT, setting up a head-to-head battle with Royal Enfield in the growing 450cc adventure segment.
The new 450MT is now available for pre-order for a special launch price of $8990 ride away – the same price that Royal Enfield announced for the launch of its Himalayan 450 just one day earlier.
With an obvious return from CFMOTO, it is now clear that these two small capacity adventure machines will be pitched directly against each other, giving prospective customers an interesting choice.
According to a CFMOTO press release, the 450 MT will be priced from $9490 ride away after the introductory offer ends. The first customer deliveries are expected in March 2024, with the full pricing set to commence from April 2024.
Royal Enfield is yet to announce its full pricing for the Himalayan 450, which is also expected to reach customers by March 2024.
The CFMOTO 450MT is powered by a 449cc parallel-twin engine, and features switchable Bosch ABS and traction control, KYB suspension, a 21- and 18-inch wheel combo, and a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is powered by a 452cc single-cylinder engine and features switchable ABS, Showa suspension, a 21- and 17-inch wheel combo, and a 4-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
The pair are quite evenly matched on paper, although it appears CFMOTO may target the off-road crowd, whereas Royal Enfield is more focused on a more traditional dual-sport audience.
CFMOTO is offering the 450MT in to colourways – Tundra Grey with Fluorescent Yellow or Zephyr Blue with Fluorescent Red. CFMOTO Australia is set to launch a microsite in January to facilitate the pre-order process, but interested customers can contact their local dealership now.
