CFMOTO’s local arm has hinted that the high-tech 1250TR-G tourer could make its way to Australian shores.
Local distributor Mojo Motorcycles said in a recent social media post that the 1279cc twin-cylinder machine is “under market evaluation”, which is the strongest indication yet the bike will be release locally.
First introduced to China in 2020, the 1250TR-G is powered by a KTM-derived 1279cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 140hp (105kW) and 120Nm, making it by far the biggest and most powerful bike in CFMOTO’s range. The motor is essentially a detuned version of the donk found in the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
The bike also features a wide array of technology including a 12.3-inch TFT touchscreen, heated grips and seat, JBL speakers, smartphone connectivity (including Apple CarPlay), keyless ignition, electronic windshield, cruise control, and tire pressure monitoring.
There is also a full suite of safety features including cornering ABS, traction control, and hill hold control, plus multiple ride modes, and bi-directional quickshifter.
CFMOTO recently unveiled an updated version of the 1250TR-G at the Beijing Motor Show, with the big news being the addition of radar-driven blind spot detection, lane change assist, and rear collision warning.
In China, the 1250TR-G retails for 109,980RMB, which translates to approximately $22,927AUD. The bike would compete with the likes of the BMW R 1250 RT, which starts at $40,750 ride away.
While CFMOTO Australia has yet to confirm if it will bring the bike to Australia, it indicated that there has already been some interest from dealers and customers. Watch this space.
CFMOTO also recently teased the 450 CL-C cruiser which is expected to be powered by a 449cc parallel-twin engine.
