A pair of Brough Superior SS100 restoration projects will draw plenty of attention at the latest Bonhams sale in the UK.
The Bonhams Spring Stafford Sale, scheduled for April 22-23, will offer a number of rare classic motorcycles with the Brough Superior models leading the way.
First up is a 1929 Brough Superior 996cc SS100 Alpine Grand Sports Sprint Special owned and raced by notable Brough Superior riders Reg Barton and Dick Knight.

Knight fitted the bike with an ex-Eric Fernihough Brooklands racing engine, but the bike still has the original gearbox, original tank and original Brough front numberplate. It has deliberately been kept in ‘Warhorse’ condition, and is expected to sell for an estimated £70,000-£100,000 (roughly $132,776AUD-$189,680AUD).
Also up for grabs is a 1936 Brough Superior 982cc SS100 that has been with the same owner for over 50 years. While it had been restored cosmetically and mechanically, its cosmetic condition has deteriorated as the owner has aged. It is now being offered with a whopping estimate of £120,000-£180,000 (roughly $227,568-$341,352).
The Bonhams auction will also see other iconic models go under the hammer, including a 1948 Velocette 384cc KTT MkV Racing and a Ron Chandler 1972 Triumph Formula 750 Triple.
Additionally, the Bonhams auction is offering up the Aland Windsor Collection which includes a selection of classic British and Japanese models. Windsor is a retired businessman and a well-known figure in classic motorcycle racing.
The Spring Stafford Sale will be a traditional live auction, but will also be streamed and available on the Bonhams App. Head to bonhams.com for more information.
