Blue Light turns 32

Yamaha tips in two bikes as prizes

The Victoria Police Motor Sports Club's famous Blue Light Rally for trail bikes has its 32md running over the weekend of 17-18 November and over 800 entrants were said to be signed up by the week before.

Organiser Colin Chamings was looking forward to a busy weekend. "We are pleased with the number of entrants this year, the rally is now at a good manageable level. We get a large number of regular riders who turn up year after year making the Blue Light more of an annual institution for many. It's great to be involved in putting on a ride that so many riders get so much enjoyment from," he says.

The event has had well over 1000 participants in former years, but was becoming a real monster to organise.

Apart from the fun, the level of prizes on offer has risen several notches over the years. Yamaha has provided a TT-R230 for the riders in the junior event on Saturday, and a WR450F for participants in Sunday's main event.
