Zero set to unveil potent new naked

All will be made public on February 25, with a power figure of 100hp in the pipeline...

Most of the electric two-wheel chatter recently has been about the all-new Harley-Davidson LiveWire, but the Santa Cruz-based Zero Motorcycles is preparing to make some headlines of its own with a new, ultra-powerful nakedbike.

The Zero SR

Currently, the Zero SR holds the mantle as the most potent machine in the Zero Motorcycles stable (157Nm/70hp), but the SR/F – which will be unveiled on February 25 – is tipped to produce around 100hp.

That’s based on the power pack highlighted in a teaser video (see below), which is labelled ‘Z-Force 75-10’. The Zero SR uses the Z-Force 75-7 power pack (as in 70hp), so 75-10 must refer to 100hp. Well, that’s our thinking…

The SR/F will have Showa suspension, J.Juan brakes, upside-down forks, Pirelli tyres, ABS and TFT instrumentation.

Could a hyper electric bike such as the SR/F tempt Zero Motorcycles back into the Australian market? As always, price is the big X-factor.
