Zero Motorcycles is officially back in Australia with the electric motorcycle firm showing off its models at the recent Everything Electric Show in Sydney.
Imported by the Peter Stevens Group, the brand said it clocked up around 170 demo rides by the time the show closed on Sunday night.
Australian supersport racer Tom Bramich, and stunt rider Lukey Luke were on hand to help promote the brand, while there were 12 models on display for customers to take a closer look at.
“It was great to be there (at the Everything Electric Show),” said Zero Motorcycles Australia GM, Chris Walton. “The turnout for the demo rides and media interest reflected the curiosity and anticipation surrounding Zero. We believe the best way to understand a Zero, is to ride a Zero.”
Zero Motorcycles is planning more events throughout the year as part of a nation-wide “roadshow”, which will give interested punters a chance to test the electric models.
The California-based manufacturer has made several attempts to crack the Australian market over the years, with the first coming in 2010, and the most recent ending in 2017, with the importers citing an inability “to build an economically viable business model”.
But with increasing interest in electric motorcycles, and the backing of a major business like Peter Stevens, Zero Motorcycles is hoping this latest attempt will be more successful.
