Zero Motorcycles back in Australia

The American electric bike company has found a new suitor in Australia, with initial shipments of the 2014 model range to arrive in March

Zero Motorcycles is making another play on the Australian motorcycle market, with the California-made electric bikes to be distributed locally by the same team behind MV Agusta.

Zero Motorcycles Australia will offer Zero’s 2014 model line, including the Zero S, Zero DS and Zero FX ‘core’ models, as well as a new ‘R’ configuration for the Zero S which offers riders a claimed 56 per cent more torque (up to 144Nm) and 24 per cent more power (up to 67hp) – good enough to reach 100km/h in 3.3 seconds.

Zero Motorcycles has also launched a new Z-Force Power Tank accessory that allows riders to travel up to to travel up to 276km in the city or 141km on the highway. The Power Tank can be added to any 2014 Zero S or Zero DS model.

Wilkinson was formally the Australian importer for Zero Motorcycles, but withdrew from the local market at the end of 2011.
