Zero finds a suitor in Australia

Local distributor for electric marque

Following on from our recent article about electric motorcycle marque Zero (here), BikePoint can now reveal an Australian company has been appointed to manage local distribution.

Melbourne-based PDW Imports, trading as Zero Imports, will be the Australian distributor, with a target date of July for the first batch of Zero X dirtbikes to go on sale in both sport and extreme (more powerful motor and better suspension) configurations.

At this stage, pricing will be around the10K mark for the sport version.

Once the dirtbikes have been rolled out, the Zero S supermoto streetbike will follow, but that will require full ADR certification before it can be ridden on Australian roads.

There are currently a couple of American-made Xs in Australia, and they are now in Cooktown (Qld) being used by British filmmaker and adventurer Charley Boorman for his second series of By Any Means, which is taking him from Sydney to Japan via the Pacific Rim.

BikePoint will be throwing a leg over an X in the not too distant future.
