Zero charges ahead

Zero has freshened up its model range for 2012

Zero Motorcycles unveiled updates across its entire range at the recent EICMA Motorcycle Expo in Milan.

While the five-model range all received cosmetic updates for the new model year, it is under the bodywork where the big news lies.

The road-oriented S model, the dual Sport DS machine, the touring capable XU, the competitive off-road MX version and the enduro-like X model will all benefit from new technology resulting in higher top speed capabilities and a longer range battery life.

According to Zero, the machines will now travel up to 185km on a single charge and reach a new top speed of just over 140km/h.
All the road-going models boast a zero (mind the pun) maintenance schedule and the brand uses a regenerative braking system that will see you get the most out of your battery’s charge.

“We are proud to introduce our game changing 2012 electric motorcycle line. Without question, this is the largest step anyone has ever taken in production electric motorcycle technology,” the company said.
