Zero Motorcycles has appointed a new Australian importer following the demise of the previous one in late 2014.
NSW-based Jeff Gleeson, who became the local distributor for Spanish dirt bike brand Gas Gas in 2013, has now added the electric bikes to his portfolio, with the initial shipment of 2015 model machines now en route to Australia.
According to the Director of Sales in Asia-Pacific for Zero Motorcycles, Phil Wilkinson, the appointment process took some time as the electric motorcycle company wanted to make sure the new partner is the perfect fit for the brand, both in a commercial and technical capacity.
"We are delighted that Zero Motorcycles Australia is continuing with Jeff and his team," said Wilkinson. "Jeff's extremely keen to see Zero continue to grow its footprint in Australia, and he's come on board at a great time with the revamped 2015 models that have a better fit and finish, increased range, Showa suspension, cast wheels, Pirelli tyres, better mirrors and Bosch ABS (anti-lock braking)."
Bikesales will be reacquainting itself with the Zero Motorcycles range very soon, which will include the 2015 version of the SR, which sits at the pointy end of the performance scale in Zero’s line-up, with a 660-amp motor that delivers 144Nm and 67hp at 4000rpm.
