Graziano Rossi, former motorcycle grand prix winner and father of current MotoGP star Valentino Rossi, has homologated his Zaeta 530 flat tracker.
Yep, now you can buy it. If you live in Europe...
Tipping the scales at a lightweight 115kg, Rossi and Paolo Chiaia's creation will sell for a cool €13,500 in Italy, which equates to around A$20,000.
Based on the competition Zaeta bike currently fielded by three-times UK flat track champion Marco Belli, who is currently second in the European championship, the homologated road-legal version is available in Italy via Bologna-based dealer Royal McQueen.
What do you get for your hard earned Euros? An Italian made 530cc single-cylinder engine (output unknown) slung betwixt a steel cradle frame, with a chassis tuned at the behest of Rossi senior, a man who knows how to go fast.
The Zaeta 530 flat tracker's colours and seat can be personalised to suit customer's desires, and two different tail sections of the bike are offered – street-legal and racing spec. However the chassis and engine are non-negotiable.
Flat trackers seem to be all the rage these days, but a $20k price tag could deter potential buyers. Rossi and co have added a real sweetener though, as buyers of the Zaeta 530 will get two track lessons with flat track star Marco Belli.
