Kawasaki newest entry-level machine, the Z250SL, is now on sale in Australia for $5299 (non-ABS) and $5599 (ABS) in Candy Burnt Orange.
The single-cylinder engine, a tweaked version of the mill found in the KLX250 dual-purpose machine, pumps out 27.6hp (20.6kW/28ps) at 9700rpm and 22.6Nm at 8200rpm.
There’s an all-new trellis frame, 37mm forks and a five-way preload-adjustable Uni-Trak shock. The wheels are similar to those on the fully faired Ninja 250SL, and the tyre sizes are 100/80-17 and 130/70-17.
There’s a back-lit LCD instrument console, with features including a bar-graph tachometer, speedometer, odometer, dual trip meters, clock, and fuel gauge.
Weight is 148kg for the non-ABS model, and 149kg for the ABS model.
The Z250SL will be up against bikes like the Suzuki Inazuma and KTM 200 Duke.
