Yamaha has announced a whopping price reduction on its diminutive YZF-R125 sports bike, which is now available for $5999 rideaway – down from $6999 (plus ORC). That’s a real saving of nearly $2000.
The reduction has come as Yamaha prepares to launch a new entry-level 150cc machine onto the Australian market – the YZF-R15. The Bikesales Network will be attending the Australian press launch in Sydney on February 9, so keep an eye out for a full launch report in coming weeks.
The YZF-R125 has a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine, tuned to deliver free-revving performance right through to maximum power at 9000rpm.
There’s also a six-speed gearbox, Deltabox frame, aluminium swingarm, and lightweight five-spoke wheels.
Colours are Burning Blue or Sunset Red.
The $5999 rideaway pricing is available only on 2009 models, and will only last as long as stock is available.
