Yamaha TTX Adventure concept

A concept from Yamaha Motor Thailand at the Bangkok International Motor Show, based on the new TTX115i scooter. Could we be seeing the dawn of a new genre?

These days, it appears the place to see the latest motorcycle design concepts is at the major automotive shows around the world. Sounds incongrous, but that's the recent trend.

The Tokyo Motor Show is a case-in-point, and now it’s been joined by the Bangkok equivalent, where Yamaha Motor Thailand is currently displaying a concept adventure scooter, based on the just announced production model – the TTX115i.

In stand-alone mode, the TTX115i already has fairly aggressive styling, with a ‘beak’ instead of standard front mudguard – a quintessential adventure trait – the main feature, but the camo-coloured TTX Adventure goes to another level with knobby tyres, protective bars, hand guards and hard panniers.

And we reckon it looks pretty trick. No word as yet on whether the Adventure will ever see volume production, but with adventure bikes all the rage at the moment, it might be a good time to strike while the iron is hot.
