Yamaha TT-R250: now $5999

Yamaha has dropped the price of its long-serving air-cooled all-rounder by $1300, and it's now on parity with its major Honda opposition
Yamaha Motor Australia has slashed the price of its TT-R250 from $7299 to $599, effective immediately – the cheapest it’s been since its introduction 1994!
The TT-R250 is now the same price as the Hondas CRF250L, which was released in the last quarter of 2012. Suzuki’s DR-Z250, another bike in this segment, retails for $6990.
Enduro legend Geoff Ballard has owned TT-R250s since 1999 and can’t get enough of the sweet handling and practical four-stroke. He even scooped a gold medal at the 1999 International Six-Day Enduro riding a TT-R250 with minimal modifications. Another Yamaha legend, Stefan Merriman, won the 250cc four-stroke class of the Thumper Nats on a TT-R250, too.
Features include a four-valve, twin-cam, six-speed engine producing 33hp, a 10-litre fuel capacity, 300mm ground clearance, and the kerb weight is 131kg. It comes with a two-year warranty.
